This is the strangest thing I have seen. Computer running Vista 32, Office 07. User reported strange printing. Some PDF's would print, others not, some Excel files would print, others not. Same for Powerpoint files. This computer prints wirelessly to a Ricoh network printer on a domain. Throws an error 'Your file could not be printed due to an error on {path}. There are several possible reasons:
- There may not be enough memory
- If you use a network for printing, there may be a problem with the network connection or printer driver
- There may be loose cables.

The free PDF Writers work normally as printer drivers too. Together with all those options is that you can’t create a PDF-file directly from MindManager any longer. You need an extra tool for this.

This is an HP laptop with 4GB of Ram. Some large files would print, while other simple, small files would not. Tried Ethernet with the same result. Tried deleting and reinstalling the printer. Also downloaded the the latest driver and installed. Now the only thing that wont print is some Excel files, indicating it was the driver. However no one else in the office has this problem. If I copy the contents of the spreadsheet to a new sheet and print the new sheet, it prints fine.
What's even stranger is that it throws the error even if I only do a print preview or try to change the layout from landscape to portrait. This suggests to me it's some kind of Office issue?

It may be that I am teaching egg sucking, but if the only program causing the problem now is excel... have you by chance set the print area in excel to be outside the printable area or vice versa? Sorry if this is too obvious but I often forget it!

I have an HP Laserjet 1300N/Adobe PDF printer and a Windows 7 desktop PC. I just have printed Word documents fine, but when I try to print PDFs, nothing happens. What could be the reason? How can I print PDF file successfully?

  1. Open Word document, and save it as PDF file first.
  2. Open PDF file in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, then print it.

1. Access to Control Panel by clicking Start – Control Panel.

2. Open Hardware and Sound – View devices and printers.

3. Right click Adobe PDF printer to open Printing preferences.

4. Uncheck “do not use document fonts”. Click OK.

Reason 2:

When you can successfully print Word document, and cannot print PDF file, that may be because of PDF reader.

Solution:

To get started, you need to install the software to read PDF files, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or any other. Then open the PDF file in the program and from there, select your printer and print the file. Everything should be printed.

  1. Download PDF reader software, Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  2. Install PDF reader software. And restart computer, open PDF file then print it.

Reason 3:

PDF file is restricted printing. So print is not available unless you know the password to remove PDF restriction.

Solution:

1. Click Protection icon and choose “Remove Security”.

2. Type permission password in pop-up dialog. Click OK.

3. Click File – Print to print selected PDF file.

Make a conclusion about steps to solve the problem cannot successfully print PDF file:

Step 1: Check if it is printer problem, whether Word document can be printed.

Step 2: Check if PDF file is available to be printed.

Open PDF file in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro. Click File – Properties to open document properties.

Then choose Security to see if printing is allowed. If it is not allowed, you should remove security from PDF file first, and then it can be printed.

Step 3: Check PDF software.
